David Arquette got a taste of his own medicine Thursday when estranged wife Courteney Cox unexpectedly made an appearance on "The Howard Stern Show."Arquette, who earlier this week blabbed to the shock jock about his marital issues, was taken by surprise when Cox walked into the studio. The "Scream 4" leading lady, who hadn't done a joint interview with him about their marriage since they separated last June, partook in some X-rated talk, where she blamed a lot of the couple's troubles on Arquette's obsession with sex.
"This is one of our problems in our relationship: whenever I would need consoling from David," she said, "he could not literally put his arm around me for one second without completely getting [excited]."Cox, 46, gave an example of Arquette, 39, allegedly saying, "Oh sorry your dad's dying – can we f--k?'"
The actor defended himself, claiming he was very good to her during that trying time back in 2001."Okay, maybe that one time," Cox conceded.
Stern pointed out that the actress was saying she didn't always want to be seen as a "sex object," to which she agreed."I'm more in touch with what she needs now," Arquette insisted. But he took many of Cox's complaints as signs that she's "over" their marriage.
"You just need to admit it," he told her, "and we just need to figure out the next steps."
"Wow," she replied. "That's heavy."Cox again swore, despite Stern's doubts, that she hasn't had affairs with her "Cougar Town " co-stars, Josh Hopkins and Brian Van Holt."They really don't want to get involved in this mess," she said. But Arquette and Cox are "always going to be a family," she said, "whether we're together or not."
