An eye-catching, and let's face it, revealing, outfit worn at a big event can make a career.
Just ask Elizabeth Hurley, who owes her time in the sun less to acting talent than Versace, or Jennifer Lopez, who despite being a star already, catapulted into the A-list thanks to the same designer. And Sunday at the Oscars Angelina Jolie managed to lift her notoriety to new levels by flashing her leg provocatively in her velvet Versace gown.

And while it's easy to work out what the pretty brunette's intention was, the actual thinking behind this peculiar outfit is hard to fathom.
Adrienne exposed way too much when her ruffled cream adornment, which was barely containing much of her chest, moved to the side and exposed pretty well everything to the cameras.
The former Cheetah Girls star was not wearing any underwear under the sheer dress, the result too explicit to publish. But the former girlfriend of Rob Kardashian was was unabashed, telling Celebuzz at the event: 'If I could come out naked, I would.' She then added: 'This is just some fancy stuff to throw over my little naked body,' referring to her barely-there ensemble from her upcoming fashion line collaboration with Dominique Auxilly. Adrienne's ensemble defies explanation in many ways as it's such a paradox, a look that is both revealing and not sexy in any way at all.
If anything, it's was comical look, as she looked like she forgot her skirt, not to mention her underwear and inexplicably got a tablecloth snared up to her belt buckle.
Indeed, if the singer had intended this outfit to be a joke on a grand scale, she's wholly succeeded.

The video, which was shot by her good friend Mark Liddell, was filmed at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood , California
It is claimed that the emotional short opening was actually recorded moments before she went on stage to perform the final date of the tour in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia
The good hearted Lavigne must have really been feeling the love because she asked her fans to show their support by donating money to the Avril Lavigne Foundation, which was set up to help sick and disabled children.
The punk star showed off an elegant and sexy side in the artistic video which sees her enter a hotel room in the part black and white part colour video. Avril, who usually wears baggy jeans with black T-shirts, traded in her trainers for a pair of sultry heels as she slipped onto the king size bed.
The singer also sports some black lingerie and carries off a new, more mature hairstyle too.
